How To - Set a page up in 15 minutes or less (if you're quick)

- Select & edit an image, you can use a free image editing tool such as Microsoft Paint or http://www.gimp.org/, host it somewhere, like with a free image hosting tool like http://freevps.us/img/, then copy & paste the HTML code into the Static HTML editor on your page, & click save.

How To - Choose where fan redirects to after clicking like

- Choose your destination web address, then copy & paste the following code snippet after the last part of your code in the non-fans editor box to redirect new fans to the wall after clicking like.
Note: replace { and } with < and >. fb reads angle brackets as code, thus the curly brackets:

{script type="text/javascript"}
top.window.location = 'http://URL-OF-DESTINATION-TAB/';
{/script}

How To - Choose where page is opened when clicked

target="_top" opens the link in the same iframe, target="_blank" will open the link in a new page. Not including the target attribute will take the user off of facebook and to the linked site.

Our Starting Phase Approach

- We were better able to make this app by I) staying current with tech & facebook news (http://techcrunch.com/ & http://www.allfacebook.com/ were great resources, II) consistent curiosity & looking for added functionality/lost functionality that could be better replaced - When we found a functionality facebook was taking away, we tried to make the simplest & least invasive tool to replace & improve that functionality.

Simple Best Practices - Managing Your Page

-The News Feed is the primary place people interact with your page, so make quality posts to your facebook page to get onto news feed. A simple way to do this is by finding online articles your audience would be interested in (get value from) & post on your wall Monday-Friday.
- Reply to all wall, discussion, etc. posts with an answer that (again) provides value to your user/fan. This can be as simple as posting the link to an article that answers a user question or just giving your thoughts on a subject, since you can probably speak knowledgeably on your page's subject.
- Find & use trusted sources, such as Facebook for business best practices: http://www.facebook.com/business & here: http://bit.ly/jCO3gr
